BITING POINT by Azalea amy Lezlynn ~ Cover Reveal

✯COVER REVEAL ✯
BITING POINT  (Sex On Wheels 1 )
By Azalea amy Lezlynn

LEGEND. KING. LOVER. RACER.

Three-T rules the roads.

But this is no televised championship, with its own rules and regulations.

There are no pretty flags or set race tracks in these street races.

My lover races raw.

He races wild.

He races illegally.

He races like a God.

I began to believe such a man could never love a girl like me, but love me he does… all of me … and there are plenty of my fuller-plus-size figured curves to love.

Together we stand strong at the head of his exotic car racing dynasty, but there is darkness brewing.

As fate would have it, regrets collect like old friends ready to relive his most agonizing moments.
Dark secrets are awakened, whispering their threats of destruction.

Will they be enough to take us down?

The moment arises for him to decide who is more important.
Me or his brotherhood of racing league members?

This is where our legacy with the world's fastest cars begins.

“We Ride Together ... As One ... 'Til The End.”

Friction (A Legal Affairs Novel)
Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: October 27, 2015

Synopsis:

At the powerhouse law firm of Knight & Payne, winning comes first and ethics a distant second. Leary Michaels uses her female charms to daze opponents, and it’s always worked well—until now. On her most personal case yet, she finds herself going up against a defense attorney just as skilled, shameless, and seductive as she is.

Reeve Holloway has never met a woman as sure of her own sexuality, or as ruthless in wielding it, as Leary is. But he won’t be toyed with. What Leary starts, he’ll finish—in the courtroom, the bedroom, or any-damn-place he wants. The sex is uninhibited, electrifying, and absolutely against the rules. Reeve’s job is to ruin Leary’s case…even if it destroys her in the process and costs him the woman he’s come to love.

My Review:

Sawyer Bennett has done it again! Leary Michaels is a female lawyer you will love. She currently has a case that means something to her tremendously. And her opponent in the courtroom is Reeve Halloway. The sparks between them from the beginning are fun and hot. I loved the elevator scene!

With Leary and Reeve on a legal case the means so much to Leary personally, will the relationship they have started  survive?

I loved this book from beginning to end! I can't wait until Sawyer's next book!

LESSONS OF THE PAST by Cloe Maxx ~ Blog Tour

Title: Lessons of the Past
Author: Chloe Maxx
Release Date: Nov 9, 2015

They say karma is a bitch.
And I'd agree--I had lived it.
I had an affair with a married man...who also happened to be my professor. I couldn't stop it, couldn't control it. The only problem was that, I, of course, wanted more, and he couldn't give it to me.
Life moved on, I thought I'd moved on, but karma came back and destroyed it all.
My husband fell in love with his secretary, and I was left trying to figure out if love was even real.
I wanted to believe it was. I was almost positive I never stopped loving the one man I couldn't have. But...what if I could have him? What if he wasn't as off-limits as I had thought?
Yes, karma is definitely a bitch. A vengeful bitch.
A month ago, I was happily married...well, I was married. Caleb and I had what everyone wanted on the outside: good jobs, a beautiful home, even a cute little dog named Buster. But on the inside, we were just existing together, not actually living and enjoying life as a couple.
When I walked in on Caleb fucking his secretary on his desk, I couldn’t really be angry. It had apparently been going on for six months and I had been none the wiser. I guess that’s what happens when you say “I love you” and you aren’t actually in love, if love even exists.
I had once thought I was in love with someone, but maybe it was just lust. I had been ready to give him every little part of me, but he couldn’t reciprocate. He had been married during our relationship and never intended to divorce his wife. I should have guarded my heart better, never acted on my feelings for him, but I had. I hadn’t thought, just felt, and it left me shattered.
That’s why karma was such a bitch.
You fuck someone’s husband and someone will eventually fuck yours. Or, at least, that was my case.
Trudging into work, I gripped my coffee in one hand and typed out an email with the other, using my phone. Work usually started as soon as I woke up and followed me home each night. It worked well for me, during my marriage, and now, during my separation. I loved the fact that I was always busy.
Setting my coffee down on my desk, I rolled my eyes and smiled as I heard, “Alex!”
I took a deep breath and walked into my boss’s office. “Yes, Mr. Bradford?”
He greeted me with a warm, genuine smile. “As you know, I have a meeting all morning. Around ten, could you go down to Raymond and Raymond on the twelfth floor and pick up some documents for me? I told them to be expecting you. I hope that’s okay since it’s of a personal nature.”
“That’s fine. Anything you need before the meeting? Coffee?” I asked. Mr. Bradford was a good guy, and easy to work for considering most of the executives were complete assholes. He had allowed me extra time off while I was visiting with my lawyer about my impending divorce and seemed to actually care about me as a person.
“Coffee would be great. Thank you.”
I nodded and exited his office. “Alex! You have to come with us this weekend,”
Jessica yelled from her cubicle. “You’re one of us now.” She grinned.
I smiled back. “Nothing is final, so not yet,” I said, stopping in front of her. As was their ritual, Jessica and a few other single girls from the office went out every Friday night for drinks, but the thought of clubbing sounded awful. Jessica had been asking me for the last two weeks to come with them—since she found out about my divorce—but all I wanted to do was eat popcorn and ice cream while watching Netflix.
“Is the asshole making it difficult?”
Jessica and I had been friends for a couple years, so I didn’t mind elaborating on my divorce. “No, not really. He feels bad about the situation.” I sighed. “He still cares about me, and I still care about him, but I’m really not that upset. He loves her, and I think that’s great that she makes him happy. Obviously, I couldn’t do that.”
Jessica nodded. “I’m sorry. I’m sure it still hurts.”
I sighed. “Yeah, it still does.” But it wasn’t necessarily Caleb and the divorce. Or his affair. I couldn’t exactly blame him for falling for someone who would actually love him back. I was more upset about the mess I’d made out of my life. It hurt so much when I actually thought about where I was, and where I thought I should be. At twenty-six, I was getting divorced and living with my sister—it wasn’t what I had planned for my life at all.
“Jessica!” boomed from the office behind her. She rolled her eyes and stood. “Well, you’re still coming this weekend. It’s just drinks and some innocent flirting.”
I nodded, but it was more so Jessica would stop asking, and headed toward the breakroom as she went into her boss’s office. Pushing the door open, I found Mason Smith leaning against the counter, sipping coffee.
His eyes lifted to meet mine. “Morning, Alex. How are you?”
“Good, thanks. You?” I asked, walking toward the coffee pot. Mason was a very attractive man with dark green eyes and light brown hair that always looked like he had just crawled out of bed.
“I can’t complain. I mean, I’m standing here talking to you.” He smirked.
I couldn’t help the small giggle that bubbled out. “That’s slick. Does that usually work with the ladies?” Mason wasn’t a whore by any means, but I was positive he didn’t spend many nights alone.
“Sometimes. Did it work now?”
Shaking my head and pouring the coffee, I replied, “No. Sorry. But it could just be my current mood.”
“Yeah, I heard. I’m sorry.”
I paused, setting the carafe down. I hated knowing my marital problems were now office gossip. It was one thing for me to tell my friends, but it was another for every single co-worker to know.
“That’s okay.” I hurried and filled the mug, placing the pot back in place.
Mason stepped closer and pushed a piece of hair behind my ear. “For what it’s worth, he’s really stupid. Anyone who would do that to you isn’t worth keeping anyway.”
I nodded, picked up the mug, and exited the breakroom, almost running.
After delivering Mr. Bradford’s coffee, I sat down in my chair and got busy. I checked my voicemail first, then began going through the paperwork sitting on my desk.
I finished off my java, then looked at my watch. It was nine fifty-five. After saving all my work and logging off my computer, I strolled to the elevator, lost in thought, and went down to the twelfth floor where Raymond and Raymond was located.
I walked up to the receptionist’s desk and greeted the older lady. “Hi, Holly. Mr. Bradford asked me to pick up some paperwork for him.”
“Hi, Alex,” she greeted, knowing me for the last couple years, and because Raymond and Raymond was handling my divorce. “Let me go grab it. Just a minute.”
“No problem,” I answered. I backed up to a chair and sank down with a sigh. I was so tired and drained, I felt like I could nap for two days straight if I was given the opportunity.
“Here you go, Alex,” Holly announced as she walked back to her desk.
“Thanks,” I said, taking the sealed envelope. “You wouldn’t happen to know if Mr. Crawford has a date for me or anything?” I questioned, regarding my divorce.
She smiled sweetly. “I can certainly call back to his office and ask.”
“Thanks. That would be great.”
She picked up her phone and connected to Mr. Crawford. After a minute, she set the phone back in its place. “He doesn’t, I’m sorry.”
“That’s okay.” I got up. “I better get back to work. Have a great day.”
“You, too,” she said as I let the door swing shut behind me.
Pressing the down button on the outside panel for the elevator, I heard, “Alexandria? Is that you?” The voice was familiar, raspy. I froze as my heart stopped, then accelerated. The open floor plan suddenly felt too small, claustrophobic, the walls caving in.
Slowly, I turned, coming face to face with the man I thought I had once loved. The man who ripped my heart out and walked all over it.
“Javier.”
“Oh my God,” he said, coming closer, and I took a step back. He still looked sexy as hell, maybe a little older, tired. “How are you?”
My body began to tremble and my sex clenched a little. “I’m great.” I hated that my body was reacting to his closeness. I needed to get away from him. Fast. The elevator arrived and the doors slid open. “I have to go, but it was great seeing you,” I said, stepping inside and turning to face him. He was so damn sexy.

A Guest Post from Mary E. Palmerin

Secrets of the Scars and Sorrow Saga

This series is complete and I never did much promo for it. I can’t explain why. The subsequent works that followed these are a lot darker in nature. I can’t say it was the content I was scared of sharing. I reached out a few times here and there, but mostly, I would write a book and hit publish. It wasn’t until Gwen and Welch’s story did I spread my wings, take off, and fly.

Three years later, six stories, and one emotional ending, this saga is complete. It is truly bittersweet. Since it is hundreds of thousands of words in length, a blog tour wasn’t something that would be feasible. Natalie asked me to write a guest post about the inspiration behind the series. I know, I know… you’ve probably heard millions of stories regarding how a person was moved to write. And you know what? It’s awesome!

I’ve always stated how close Lyla’s story is to me. I proudly support Project Semicolon, and I even have a tattoo of one on my left wrist. I’m sure people who don’t know me have made assumptions about me and my life, especially after I have met some at signings and they see how passionate I am about the stories I have written.

Now, I am going to tell you my story.

I was four-years-old the first time I remember feeling fear. I’m not talking about the kind of distress from a scary story that is told over a speckling campfire, or from a pretend ghoul while trick-or-treating. I’m describing the kind of dread that still, at twenty-eight, makes my heart flutter with unease. It’s ironic how so many people feel like they were destined to “be” something or someone.

I never felt that, except in the path of destruction. What a mystery, that very destruction has lead me to this fantastic dream I am basking in…

I only remember holding onto the fear and sadness. Thinking back to being in that hot truck when I was four makes me want to go into my office, pour a cup of coffee, and spill those emotions into the stories that I create. I recall reaching my little arm out to roll the window down, but it was too short to reach the lever. The seat was torn and it scratched my little legs. I’ve held onto that horror since. I’m not the type of person that lives with regret. I don’t believe in do-overs. Maybe I was put through that to be here… to tell these stories and give the world a glance into a different facet; for people to discern that life isn’t ever what it seems. Prince Charming and Mr. Nice Guy aren’t always so nice.

Sometimes the dark-haired little girl with pink glasses is crying inside.

Through the dread, the monsters, and the pain, I also saw another side of the world. Good people came into my life and family became the very foundation in which I was built. Who would have thought it would be possible to tear down a little girl before she was even able to stand on her own two feet?

But I did.

My mother, sister, brother, and extended family became my rock. Through heaviness and despair, we were always who one another could lean on. As an adult, I’ve been known for my kindness, randomly sending a care package to one of my street-teamers in need. Lifting people up with my words and always having a positive attitude is another attribute I am known for. Of course, it would have been easier to dismiss the decency that popped into my life and become one of the horrific people that saturated it at different times, but I didn’t.

Moments such as when Christmases were hard for my mother, raising three kids on her own, graciousness was shown to us. The good side of the world gave us mercy that year, giving me faith. Hope. Belief in life.

Words. They have the ability to create so many things. I have used them to cope. I started to write when I was eight, but as time passed, it would no longer be enough for me as the face, voice, and memories from my monster haunted me. New monsters would meet me and become too much. My secrets were too plentiful to handle. I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs, “Am I alive, God?” but my scream was silent. It echoed on the inside. I needed it to stop.

I hurt myself. A lot. That shiny little vane was the only friend that knew my secrets and remained silent. It never judged, it simply listened to my commands and hurt me, making me bleed until my eyes exploited the sorrow that spilled from my soul. I continued to write, mostly short-stories and poems. Being a teenager was one of the roughest eras of my life, as new monsters greeted me. Again, nothing is what it seems. That is the line that I use in every book I write. I became a master at pretending when everyone around me was finding their happiness. My mother remarried an amazing man, one that I am lucky enough to call my father now. My sister fell in love. My brother went to college, then joined the Marines, eventually becoming an incredible father. Things were changing. Family was still the basis of what mattered, but I was stranded in my own personal darkness, and it was swallowing me whole.

I would drown before I escaped.

Tragedy would envelop my family and lives would be lost.

Again, though cliché, I do believe everything happens for a reason. I made it through my teenage years. It wasn’t easy. I learned a lot. I hurt a lot, and I wrote… A LOT. I also kept everything I ever wrote, mostly dark poetry and scribblings. Again, it would prove to be inspiration for this series.

Watching my family hurt is the worst imaginable pain, but the most unbelievable thing is that we will always have one another. I watched one lose the love of their life. I watched another lose their best friend. I watched one return home from war a different person, but our love would remain the same, because we traveled to hell and back.

We fucking survived.

At nineteen, my life changed interminably. I met my now-husband soon after I graduated from high school. We were on-again, off-again. I knew that if I didn’t go back to my safe place, life wouldn’t give me a hundredth chance. In November 2006, I took a chance when I was drowning in an abyss of blackness. I called him and he told me two words that changed me forever.

“Come home.”

And I never left. My husband is the happily-ever-after I never thought I deserved. My life was never supposed to end up like this. Though still in the two-stoplight town that reminds me of my past, it also reminds me of my future. It reminds me of a tomorrow that I will be blessed with. It gives me the hope that I never let myself let go of.

My happily-ever-after isn’t perfect. The road was bumpy and full of scars and sorrow, some that I still wear, but my little 1200-square foot 1940s home is where my life is, in Indiana, with my husband, kids, and dream that is at my fingertips. I won’t ever let go of that fear. It isn’t so bad. It has, after all, given me ten amazing stories. I suppose you can say that it is a friend of sorts.

The fear from my past will never subside because I don’t want it to. It reminds me that I am brave. I have survived. I can show people just how beautiful hope is. Imperfection is magnificent. Lyla is strong. She is fierce. She is fucking brave. And she got the ending she deserved. I got the ending I deserve, too.

This may have not been what you expected. That’s alright. It may be taken well, perhaps it won’t. I don’t write for that. I write to heal. To help others heal. To make others see that through our brokenness is sometimes where we find ourselves.

I know I did.

In conclusion, I hope if you take one thing away from this series and my story, it’s to never judge someone. Always be kind. And carpe fucking diem.

Excerpt
Lindsey   Reaching the bottom of the steps, I spot Alison’s one-night stand in the doorway. Roamyn’s voice echoes through the hall, deep and pissed off. “Who the hell are you?” “Jake, what are you doing back here?” I ask, not giving the guy time to answer Roamyn. Mason stills when I use Jake’s name, his body rigid and expression pinched. Jake glances between Mason, Roamyn and myself. “The lady asked you a question,” Mason, steps up beside me, posture tall, chest out, and I roll my eyes at his macho attitude. He actually looks pissed off. It takes me all of a second to realize why. He thinks Naked Guy is here for me, not Alison. The thought he might be jealous has me grinning for the first time this morning. “Um, I forgot my wallet,” Jake croaks out, his voice breaking as both badass detectives shoot him looks that could kill. Turning to me, Mason folds his arms over his torso. “Lindsey, the boy forgot his wallet.” My eyes bulge at the unspoken insinuation he’s throwing at me. Ali appears beside Roamyn, but before I can rip Mason’s judgmental ass a new one, she pipes up, “Wow. That was an asshole move.” All eyes land on Alison and all three men appear thoroughly confused. I lower my hand to my hip and the other out in front of me. “Okay, hold up right there.” I aim at Mason, “Jake here, looks all of eighteen years old. I’m no cougar. So you can take your judgment and shove it right up your ass.” “Seriously?” Ali’s voice cracks through the lasers of annoyance I’m shooting into Mason. Amused, she points between Jake and I. “You actually thought Lindsey would bring a guy home? To her place?” Ali scoffs and Mason grimaces while scrubbing the stubble shadowing his face, obviously regretting his insinuation now. Roamyn turns to Ali accusingly. “Wait, so he was with you then?” “Well, yeah, he sure wasn’t screwing Miss Uptight over here.” She nods in my direction. I roll my eyes. “Real mature, Alison.” “Um, excuse me but–” “What?” Cutting Jake off, four sets of pissed off eyes glare at him. He shrinks back. “Look, if I can just grab my wallet, I’ll get out of your hair.” “I’ll get it, hold on,” Ali murmurs as she disappears down the hall.
