Excerpt:
Heavy-duty glass stairs and banisters lined the route to the plush flooring on the upper floor. Ten square open seated areas faced the main dance floor allowing us to mingle with the other VIP’s if we wanted to socialize. We were led to the first one on the right, and I couldn’t help but notice we’d snagged the best spot because we could see the DJ and the crowd dancing below. Even though we were cut off from the main dancefloor, we still felt a part of the normal stuff happening below. Six bottles of champagne were already chilling in coolers on the side tables dotted between the deep red velvet seating as Amber ran excitedly toward the area and sat rubbing her hands on the soft material, “Thank you, guys. This is absolutely unreal. I can’t believe you’ve done all of this for us.”
Valerie smiled and snuck her hand up the inside of my shirt, “You’re incredible, Flynn. Look how happy she is. Thank you, for planning this.”
“I did this for us as much as for them. How often have I had the time to spend having slow sexy dances with my girl?”
Apart from our night in Chicago, I’d never taken her dancing. I planned to straighten that out.
“From now on Valerie, we’re ditching all the shitty parts that go with RedA, and we’re going to have some fun. Taking her by the hand, I led her over to the plush sofas and sat on one taking her down with me sitting her on my knee. Surprisingly, she straddled my lap and planted a wet kiss on my neck, “Mmm, very nice,” she murmured as she shivered and wiggled her pussy on my hard dick.
“You’re a fucking tease, you know that Ms. Darsin?” I snickered and cupped her ass in the palms of my hands while I stole a deep, passionate kiss.
We were interrupted when Kayden tapped on Valerie’s shoulder and bent to speak in her ear, “I’d rather you were a bit more restrained in front of me, Sis,” he scowled.
Valerie glanced at me and smirked knowingly, “Kayden, what are you, my dad? Flynn’s a rock star, he’s got a reputation to keep, you’ll just have to suck it up,” she retorted, before pulling my hair back and kissing me again.
Breaking the kiss I chuckled when I saw Kayden rub the back of his neck because I knew he wanted to knock me the fuck out, but Valerie had spoken, and I was damned if I was going to apologize for kissing my girl.

When they reached the ballroom he locked the door behind him. Jack walked over to one of the decorative side tables and produced a box wrapped with red paper.
“Merry Christmas,” he said, handing it to her.
“Why didn’t you give this to me earlier?”
“I needed us to be in private when I gave it to you. Open it.”
It had to be jewelry. “I told you not to get me anything outlandish.”
“I don’t have to listen to you. Even if we are married.”
Caroline ripped the paper away. She opened the box and was greeted with an exquisite emerald necklace. Fringe design, with each individual green stone framed by tiny sparkling diamonds. The necklace was dripping with jewels from end to end. It looked like a prop from an eighties soap opera except it was stunningly, gorgeously real. She wouldn’t even want to speculate about the cost. “Jack-”
“Do you like it?” he asked.
She was convinced he only gave her presents just to gauge her reaction. To see how long she’d gawk at them before starting to gush. Caroline wasn’t refined when it came to her spontaneous responses to him. Did she like the necklace? A rather silly question since it was one of the most amazing things she’d ever seen.
“It’s beautiful,” she whispered.
He took the box from her. “I didn’t recall seeing you with anything other than sapphires or diamonds. We’re going to have to do something about that.”
She could only imagine the media attention they’d get if she paraded around wearing a necklace that cost more than what the average household made in a year, several times over. Sometimes her husband forgot that he was running for governor, not auditioning for the cast of Falcon Crest. “It’s too much, Jack. It’s so…elaborate. I can’t wear that in public.”
He smiled. “Then don’t. Wear it just for me.”
“Just around the house? Like, when I’m watching baseball and stuff?”
He laughed. “‘And stuff’?”
Her language was less polished than usual. “I’ve had a ton to drink today. I can’t always be articulate.”
Jack pulled her to him, leaning toward her ear. “How about you wear the necklace and nothing else, and grant your husband a dance?”
Now she saw where he was going. “A nice Christmas waltz?” Caroline suggested. “Fully clothed, of course. We must always be proper.”
He tugged at her sweater. “Try again.”
His romantic and seductive gestures were sweet, but impractical. “It’s cold in here.”
“I’ll turn the heat up.”
“What about you?”
“We don’t need to worry about me.”
Caroline sighed. “I meant your clothes.”
He unbuttoned her pants. “They’re staying on.”
That seemed unfair. “I’m not sure I like this power differential.”
Jack ran a finger under the waistband of her panties. “I think you do,” he whispered.
She shivered when he pulled her pants and underwear down. “Will there be music? Or are you going to parade my naked self around the ballroom in silence?”
“I picked a special song for the two of us.” He grinned. “And you won’t be naked. You’ll be wearing the necklace.”
She ran her hands down the front of his shirt, imagining how it would feel for her bare chest to rub against it while they danced. “You will undress at some point, right?”
He kissed her again. “Upstairs. Let me do this,” he said softly, stripping off the rest of her clothes, even her bra and panties. He laughed when he reached her socks. “Are those dinosaurs?”
Caroline liked wearing fun socks. She didn’t care if they were juvenile. She’d get away with it for as long as she could. “They’re wearing little Santa hats.”
Though he’d started to yank them down, he hastily pulled them back up to below her knees. “These can stay on. But only because they make you look so damn adorable.”
She tried not to think of what she’d look like wearing nothing but whimsical dinosaur knee socks and an emerald necklace, but the expression on his face indicated that Jack didn’t particularly care. He kissed her deeply before retrieving the necklace. He took his time placing it around her neck, then stepped back to look at her. It took all her effort not to blush. She hadn’t anticipated the night ending this way.
Jack tipped her chin up. “You look fucking marvelous.”
Her face had to be as red as a cherry. “Even with the socks?”
He brushed a stray hair out of her face. “There are few things sexier than a woman wearing an emerald necklace and dinosaur socks…and nothing else.”

Excerpt

My question dies before it finishes when I realize Max is right there.  He pulls the drinks out of my hands and sets them on the counter at my back without a word.  His hands return to my hips where he pulls me against him, his mouth coming down on mine once more.

This.  This is what I expected in the hallway.  His mouth is firm and demanding, and he nips at my lower lip with his teeth.  With a gasp at the unexpected sting my mouth opens, and his tongue sweeps in.  He tastes like strawberries.

His hands run up my back under my shirt, kneading and caressing my skin.  I'm swept away by him, by his kiss, by his commanding presence, and it seems like all I can do to hold on, my fists clutching his shirt my only anchor.

He breaks away from my mouth and runs his lips down my jaw to my neck, biting and sucking at the place where my neck meets my shoulder.  I shrug my shoulder to discourage that.  It feels good, but I don't want a hickey.  I'm twenty-two for God's sake, not a teenager in the first throes of lust.  I didn't even let boys give me hickeys then, especially not with two older brothers watching all the guys who were interested in me.

Max raises his head, a wicked grin on his lips and mischief dancing in his eyes.  Before I can react he lifts my tank top, and my arms raise to help him strip it off me.  He tosses it to the side, his eyes on my breasts.  I look down and realize I'm wearing the most boring bra imaginable—beige cotton with zero decoration.  It's not like I expected to show off my lingerie for anyone today.
I open my mouth to explain away the bra choice, nerves getting the better of me. Before I can say anything he traces one finger along the edge of the cup.  “You’re beautiful, Cate.”

I guess boring lingerie doesn't faze Max.  Both hands come up and cup my breasts.  His large hands engulf them, the upper curve just spilling over his grip.  He circles my nipples with his thumbs, bringing them to attention, absorbed by what he's doing to me.

He tugs one cup aside to expose my now-hard nipple.  Bending down, he takes it in his mouth and sucks deep, a groan rumbling in his chest.  I can't stifle the gasp that escapes from my mouth, and I clutch at the counter behind me so I don't fall from the sensation.

His hands reach behind me to unhook my bra, and he stands up so he can pull the straps down my arms, letting it fall to the floor at our feet.  His eyes flick up to my face for a moment to check in with me, and he leads me by the hand to the bed.  Sitting on the edge, he brings me to stand between his legs.  “So beautiful.” His hands run up my torso and caress my breasts, teasing the nipples, sliding to my back to bring me closer so his mouth can play with them some more.  In this position his head is at the perfect height to reach my breasts.  The longer he plays, the weaker my legs get, and I clutch at his shoulders so I don't fall, his hands on my ass holding me up.
